Mother. Of God.

y’all, we’re going to have to quarantine the Kings.

nobody ever went broke underestimating the intelligence of the sacramento kings

Privately Cousins feared Karl wanted him gone according to folks in the know. Karl's there's no untradeable player talk in April didn't help

No coach is worth a potential super star in a city like Sacramento. This shouldn't even be a discussion.

Matt Moore is saying Sacramento and Denver should just trade coaches now.

I wrote this in the Lakers trade thread that either Karl doesn't want to coach the guy or he is trying to get a bit job security.

I don't buy the style-fit argument.

Despite Sacramento Kings management's public insistence that DeMarcus Cousins is unavailable in deals, coach George Karl's intense desire to trade the All-Star center has made it increasingly unlikely this coach-star partnership can peacefully co-exist next season, league sources told Yahoo Sports.

Karl has been recruiting Kings vice president of basketball operations Vlade Divac and multiple players on the Kings' roster to unite with him in making the case to owner Vivek Ranadive that Cousins needs to be traded, league sources said.

Since the end of the 2014-15 season, Cousins has become aware of Karl's campaign to move him – including teammates telling Cousins, sources said.

If the Kings dump Cousins, they will go several years before landing a player as talented as him. The painful years between Yao/T-Mac and Harden/Howard caused me to value superstars so much. You aren't making any noise without one.

Yep

But that would involve their psycho owner sucking up his pride.

Karl knows he is a shite head and they'll never win with him. He's been around long enough to know that

The top comment on r/kings about sums it up.

He is 25, at worst a top 3 center, the only player they have hit on in the post weber years, and, somehow i really havent seen this mentioned, he has THREE years left on his contract. You just can't trade that

I'm assuming he doesn't think the Kings will have the balls to fire their 3rd coach in 6 months

I wouldn't put it pass them though. Really repsected front office folks have gone running from that team in the past few months and they gave Vlade Divac, with no experience, off the streets, the top spot in the organization.

Plus I assume their plan is to use him as a way to move up in the draft and I am completely unconvinced you are going to find a guy as good as Boogie in this draft.

TWolves/Cavs trade made sense because the Cavs wanted to win now, Love was planning on leaving, and a lot of people felt Wiggins could end up being a better player.

Boogie is in the middle of long term deal iircm and has made no comments publicly about wanting out.
