Will T'eo and Lance Armstrong temper the "human interest" fetish?

Is there any hope that this will actually occur with regard to sports? While I get some small aspects of it. It really seems to do sports a disservice when it seems that's literally the only reason certain folks become notable or get accolades over some others.

no

At the minimum, it will hopefully dampen the need for an annoying overly sappy Tom Rinaldi puff piece every week.
