Serious question: who did Notre Dame beat this year?

Same can be said about Clemson, Iowa

they could have 4 top 25 wins (which could be more than any other team)

Alabama says hi. Played 6 Top 20 teams this year, including the #2, which they spanked. ND? Clemson? Ohio State? Did any of them play a top 10 team?

Top 25 at the time you played them doesn't mean shite.

However, Bama will have 4 top 25 wins by the end of the Season. Miss St, Florida, Wisky, and Texas A&M (WTF happened to the SEC Big 6 this year)

Bama also played a lot of teams in the 26-40 ranges

They could jump Clemson in the final week.

Alabama did NOT beat a #2 team. Absolutely not. The playoff committee only counts an opponents CURRENT ranking, not when they played.

Alabama's victory over LSU is currently viewed by the playoff committee as a victory over a #15 team, based on the latest rankings. In a few days when the new rankings come out, that LSU victory will probably be against a team outside the top 25. So Alabama will get very little credit for that win.

A similar thing happened to ND. Notre Dame beat an undefeated and 15th ranked Georgia Tech team in September. Georgia Tech then imploded and now have a 3-8 record. Notre Dame doesn't get much credit for this win, but at the time it was an important and good win for the Irish. By the way, most "experts" on this board said that Tech would "boat-race" ND.

Georgia isn't gonna be top 25, but just outside it at 9-3 as well. And that was an arse pounding on the road for Bama. Counts as a quality win IMO.

I'm not the one who doesn't understand the College Football Playoff Committee rules. You are Joeleblanc. Sorry to break the news to you but in a few days when the new rankings come out that LSU win is no longer viewed as a victory over a top 25 team.

They should be dropped for all the injuries they have

so what you are saying is that right now, Alabama has only played 2 top 25 teams all year, ole miss and miss state? No wonder they playoff system is screwed just like it was before the playoff system was implemented

Its either Texas A&M or LSU because they play each other in the final week. Neither are currently ranked

It gets kind of bizarre. I normally root against USC since they are our main rival. After we beat them, I started rooting for them to win out the rest of the season, so they would stay in the top 25. They are currently rated #24 but since they lost to Oregon on Saturday, they'll be outside the top 25 when the new rankings come out and its no longer seen as good of a win. Strange but true.

ND will most likely get dropped after the Big Ten CG. Having Navy/Temple/Stanford as their marquee wins cannot stack up to the tear that Oklahoma and Michigan State would have gone on to win out. Undefeated Iowa is over them too. Nate Silver shows ND getting dropped eventually I think.

Going by the AP top 25, then next 10 receiving votes:
Notre Dame 4-1
OU 2-0 (but with a loss to UT)
Iowa 3-0
MSU 3-1

If you have to pick 2 of those 4 Notre Dame is easily one of the two.

Notre Dame could easily be #1 right now. They win and they should be in.

OU struggled to beat an okay TCU team playing without its 2 best players. TCU is certainly not pretty damn good without Boykin and Doctson.

OU didn't struggle until Fatterson's LB took a dirty shot on Baker Mayfield knocking him out the game. At least the turd got ejected. Still no reason for OU's defense to allow TCU back into the game in the 2nd half though.

Bama's schedule looks pretty bad as a one loss team, why do they get a pass? They're best win is now an unranked LSU team.
