The numbers are there but...
The Nats collapse and missing playoffs.
Will the Papplebon incident sway voters?

I imagine he will and he definitely should be.

I think he has the numbers but my thought is he really the MVP or is he the MOP?
Sometimes I think they should rename the award

He still provided the most value to his team. Not his fault his teammates suck and couldn't capitalize on the value. I agree changing the name might make things a little clearer though.

Next best is probably votto. And the reds suck worse.

Harper is as clearcut an MVP as any I can remember because of a) his own stats and b) the lack of any other dominant player in the NL, outside of Arrieta and Grienke.
There's no Trout/Donaldson level player in the NL.
The highest WAR of a guy going to the playoffs is Jason Heyward. Then Rizzo and Bryant from the Cubs.
Those guys are not getting serious votes.

I really do not know actually, it could go to one of the pitchers possibly?
But since expansion of playoffs I think you can make an argument it needs to go to someone who played on one of those teams or was in contention late.
That's why I like changing the name to MOP from MVP.

harper then votto or rizzo.
Votto's team was terrible. Rizzo has good stats, but pale in comparison to Harper.
a pitcher wont get it; they aren't even going to be able to decide who gets the cy young.

If he does not win it, could one say he choked it away?

the voters stated playoffs mattered for MVP, when they picked Roided up Sosa over Roided up Big Mac.
So, it should go to Cutch.

He should be - watching his plate skill and discipline at age 23 is a joy. Dude could be GOAT white hitter (Williams holds that distinction now). Bonds greatest hitter of all time and Miggy Cabrera best Hispanic hitter of all time.

When I first read the subject I thought "who in the hell is Will Harper?"
