For a five year period spanning the late 80s-early 90s, Clark was arguably among the 3 best MLB players overall and appeared a sure thing all-timer during that point. Can't consider him better than Willie "Say Hey" Mays or Lou Gehrig due to their longevity, consistency, and how their production far exceeded their closest competitors but he's a stud and certainly underrated all-time.

I think Will mellowed some as he got older and had kids. I know everytime my son ran into him (in baseball circles) it was a positive interaction. More so than many former MLB guys... With that being said - according to those close to him that reputation was well earned in his younger years.
