I keep reading how she's the greatest gymnast ever but she's 19, which is borderline old in elite world gymnastics.

Where was she 4 yrs ago?

You must be at least 16 to compete.

Didn't the Chinese have like 13yr olds competing in Beijing when they won?

Female gymnasts competing at this level routinely have delayed puberty long past the average age girls undergo it.

They all look like munchkins out there and I highly doubt the Chinese team (or anybody else) has someone on their Olympic team under the age minimum.

Why? It's come out how much they pulled to win as many golds as possible in Beijing. Even the Chinese state run paper had reported one of them as 14 earlier in 2008.

Somebody needs to chop a leg off the Chinese competitors and count the rings.

Wasn't Dominique Moceanu 14 when she competed in the 96 games? When did they change the minimum age?

Yeah thats why I couldn't figure where Biles was in 2012. I thought I remembered some of those classic Olympics with 14 and 15 yr olds.

She wasn't old enough. She didn't compete Sr gymnastics until 2013(where she immediately won pretty much everything).
