Ok. State while not great, has enough program prestige that they shouldn't be playing at Central Michigan. Mississippi State has always been a punching bag, so I kind of understand that one.
I forgot about Mizzou playing at Toledo last year, that's bad also.

App State was the reigning champ of the little guys and only won on a blocked field goal. not exactly own age.
Nice try. Thanks for playing.

These Qs show a complete lack of awareness of how CFB scheduling works. For over a hundred years, schools did home-and-home scheduling and in many, many cases, a "higher tier" team travelled to a "lower tier" team.
Modern times and dollars and bottom-lines have shifted that but not for the better in my opinion. But it is FAR from rare to see such scheduling. LSU used to travel to Rice and Tulane. And then, the mighty dollar changed LSU's priorities.
HOWEVER, recent examples include:
Oklahoma at UTEP
Texas at Wyoming
Texas at UCF
Baylor at ULM (2013 I think)
Texas A&M at Louisiana Tech (2013 I think)
Virginia Tech at East Carolina
Wake Forest at ULM (2014)
Mississippi State at USA (2014)
Penn State at UCF (2014)
Arizona at UTSA (2014)
Nebraska at Fresno State (2014)
[Heck, even Vanderbilt has traveled to Ole Miss << humor inserted to annoy Rebs, not to make my point any stronger]
And many, many, many more.
I think the better question is.. why don't SEC schools more often schedule some two-for-one or three-for-one games in some interesting locations.
How cool would it be for LSU fans in Las Vegas (in exchange for three UNLV trips to BR)?
Or to Honolulu in exchange for two Hawaii trips to Tiger Stadium?
Or at West Point on a beautiful Autumn Saturday afternoon in late-October? And host Army once or twice as a trade.

Only logical reason is to save some money by doing a 2 for 1 instead of paying them to come to Stillwater. Still not worth scheduling a trap game tho IMO.

I'd rather see a big ten team like Michigan State go play at Western Michigan a MAC team instead of scheduling a game against a Division 1-AA school.
If you're a Michigan State fan I imagine you can still see your team play reasonably close in Michigan. I think Michigan State has scheduled 3 for 1 against Western and Central Michigan and will play Eastern Michigan's home game at Ford Field.
I've always wanted LSU to play Tulane and would be happy with a 3 for 1 with Tulane with the road game being played at the Superdome.
With the playoffs I think it matters to play Division 1-A schools over 1-AA schools.

Okie St apparently likes scheduling 2 for 1 deals. They came to Cajun Field a few years ago

I would love to see Bama play at West Point or Colorado Springs if we arranged a 2-1 deal. I would travel to either location to see that game.
The neutral site stuff is getting old.

I wish more P5 schools would play occasional games at smaller schools. Always has a great atmosphere and I think it adds to the flavor of college football.

FWIW, this game was in Ireland.
Solid points made regardless. I would love to see LSU play at West Point.

I have to believe all these "big boy AT little sister" games are 2 for 1 deals with no money exchanged. It damn near cost $1,000,000 to get "little sisters of the poor" to show up at Tiger Stadium these days.
