9:20 eastern. Like wtf. Probably won't end until midnight.

What is the reasoning behind this?

Uh...

It's like a rule that big sports games have to start after 6pm to get WC viewers home after rush hour to watch the game.

And by WC viewers - I mean...California...like 40 million viewers.

And then also kinda get Alaska at 5:20 pm...

Watching sports is the worst part about living on East Coast time.

Hate it. Have to get up at 5:30 for work tomorrow.

Because the game is in Arizona and they aren't filling out that stadium with a 5:20 local time start.

How many west coasters (not from Gonzaga) are watching this anyway. Per capita, I'd venture it doesn't come close to the east coast numbers.

I'm glad they're catering to the west coast hippie liberals.

Did it once briefly, could never do it again.

In college on the West Coast...glory days...

Wake-up hung-over and the Big10 games are already on at 9am...

Then you get the afternoon SEC and Big 12 games...

And then the primetime Pac-12 games.

Honestly, I don't know how sports fans live on the East Coast.

What a drag. I hear Yankees and Sox fans would be staying up until 1am...during the playoffs - and then you have to drive home from the bar or stadium. Crazy.

it actually works out better for us night owls. i always love when there is a hawaii game on til 1am or later. 7pm prime SEC games are over at what, 830 on the west coast? that leaves a whole lot of time with nothing good to watch after drinking all day.

Over at 7pm...west coast time.

Which is why they started flexing Pac-12 games to 7pm start times. USC and Oregon did it all the time last decade - even when they were the national draw...starting 10pm East Coast time 70-10 USC vs. Arkansas for example. Games like that I'm sure you remember.

Oregon had some real late games...I think they started one time 11pm East Coast time this past year.

I completely agree. Last year I moved (back) to the eastern time zone and it sucks. Central time is so much better for sports viewing.

but those pac 12 games are still over early if you are actually on the west coast. here those are the games i rely on to get me to 11:30ish, west coasters have nothing to fill that time slot
