Jewish media conspiracy to oversaturate Tim Tebow thus causing a popular backlash and metaphorical crucifiction, if you will, of the Evangelical athlete.

Because he is a Christian. I bet it would be totally different if he was Buddhist, Jewish, Muslim, etc...

Notice how many times you here people say "He's forcing religion down people's throat" when he has yet to do such a thing.

Sign of the times.

Tebow is terrible. He'll never throw for 300 yards in a game. He'll never lead a team to the playoffs. He'll never win a playoff game. Worst quarterback ever!!!

This is the first time that I've heard of this as a complaint against him.

In fact, the ONLY people who bring up his faith in Tebow discussions are his supporters who believe that he's somehow being oppressed because of his faith.

It's rather interesting because other players and even other QBs have been at least as outspoken about their faith as Tebow has, and they have not received anything remotely near the amount of backlash.

So clearly, his faith is not the issue, so please stop bearing false witness.

People don't like him and they want him to fail because people can't stand the fact that he is seemingly perfect. They did it to Jesus, so Tebow is not immune to the flaws of humanity.

That is why Tebow is really annoying. He is getting credit and praise in an area he has not earned it (football) because of things he does in a completely different area (charity or whatever).

Tebow lead his team to the playoffs last year and won a playoff game. Now he hasn't quite earned the hype in the NFL that he get's. But every other aspect of his life he has certainly earned it. He was the best QB in College for roughly 3 years. He certainly earned that.

exactly. more so for Te'o, because there are definitely better linebackers in college football.

Disproportional amount of media coverage relative to his success/skill.
But I don't hate Tebow for that. I hate ESPN for that.

You're joking right?

I repeat:

The ONLY people who bring up his faith are his supporters.

You don't see any of his detractors talking about his faith when they talk about him.

Again, you have have an opportunity to rebut my comment about all of the other NFL players, including other QBs, who are at least as outspoken about their Christian faith as Tebow, yet who have not received the same amount of criticism.

Why wasn't Tebow criticized to this degree while at Florida? He was the same guy as he is now.

Why weren't there Jon Kitna threads? He was AT LEAST as outspoken as Tebow about his faith, and he played the QB position. Barry Sanders did promotions advocating abstinence, as did (I know, different sport) AC Green. Why weren't those guys "hated"?

Again, if you want to say that it's Tebow's faith that is why he's "hated", then you'll have to answer why all of the other outspoken Christians and virgins AREN'T "hated".

In other words, unless you can provide evidence of the religious persecution of Tim Tebow, that excuse is nothing but a load of bullshite.

Same, to me Tebow is just guilty by association.

That fricking idiot Josh McDaniels is to blame as well, for taking him in the first round.

And let me add:

TEBOW is not hated.

The bullshite that the media pulls is hated.

I like Tebow as a person, and I think that he's an intriguing QB. I thought that he should have been allowed to sit a couple years before being thrown out there so that he could improve as a passer. I said as much during his rookie year in Denver.

I felt that he should have gone someplace like Carolina when he was traded from Denver. He should be running plays similar to what Vick ran in the first half of 2006, lots of read options and simple passes--you know, what he did in Denver. Is that sustainable for the long term? No. But to work him into the league from time to time, sure. Heck, if San Fran hadn't drafted Kaepernack, that would have been a good place for him for what Harbaugh does in that offense.

But as a traditional, drop back passer, he's terrible. There's no way around that.

Yeah it's all ESPNs fault that Tebow decided to go running shirtless in front of a row photographers while it was raining.

Tebow does play the game a little bit when it comes to the media.

Well the media coverage is bad but he also brings on him self with trying to be the best guy in the world act.

Its not an act. If you've ever heard anyone talk about meeting him they always say that he is as nice and genuine as anyone could be. Oh and God forbid he is open about his faith life

Which one of those players you named were on a level of popularity that matches Tebow? None of them are even remotely close. And who's to say that the others aren't? They're just not on the same platform.

He definitely received criticism in college for religion... remember when he used to wear the scripture on the eye black? shite hit the fan pretty quick with that IIRC, and it resulted in banning all writing on eye black. It sure wasn't Reggie Bush's '619' causing issues.

Fact.
