Why are heads MLB and NCAA baseball teams called different names?

MLB = manager
NCAA = head coach
NCAA = head coach

i think it stems from mlb having player/coaches in the past, so one player was deemed "manager" but im not positive
eta: i know thats why coaches in baseball wear the full uniform, anyway

Because at the college level you are still refining and coaching
At the MLB level you are doing more managing and letting your pitching coach or hitting coach do the coaching
