Who's going to be smart enough to start covering sports without including political views?

What network or website will be the first to jump onto this sports only train?

Because I'm ready for it. I'm willing to pay for it

I want to keep politics and social issues out of sports and sports out of politics.

I just want to enjoy my sports without hearing any of the outside bullshite.

I want sports to be an escape.

I go to twitter, sports websites, or any tv sports news show and they are all filled with nothing but who stood or didn't stand for the anthem and what their opinions are about it. I DONT GIVE A frick!!

Both have always been closely related.

But clearly there is a market for this. I know I'm not the only one who feels this way.

Much like how Fox News started to cater to conservatives who's viewpoints were being ignored in the liberal dominated news media.

Someone with money needs to invest in this and get it started

Me too, and yesterday was perfect for that for me. The slate of NFL games was epic!

In fact, literally the only place I heard a peep about political stuff(and it was a tad more than a peep) yesterday was right here on the MSB, go figure.

Well of course not. But social media and the ability to tailor your sports/political taste to what you want to hear has greatly changed sports media.

i think this is a complete lie

now social issues have gotten platforms via sports, but that's just b/c sports are popular and can be used to force acceptance of radical views (for the time). 99.9% of the time, however, politics and sports don't interact

for some sections of the population

which, means that there are other sections that would likely welcome it. the same fragmentation of information dissemination should allow "politics free" sports to its own niche

There isn't a market for it.

I can't think of the name for it, but there's a soccer highlight show that comes on and it literally is nothing but highlights with the commentary being the announcers of the specific game and they show all of the big moments of the game.

No former players dickriding their former organization in between clips, it's literally only highlights of all the games from that week.

That, to me, is the way sports programming should be done. But ESPN has ruined that for everyone with their debate shows and shitty takes and political bias intertwined into a 'sports' segment.

The market says that people want debate style programming.

Match of the Day. They show condensed versions of the games.

ESPN has shifted its demographic targets with many of those shows

and a lot of that has to do with the internet and traditional sports discussion moving away from a centrally-based outlet like ESPN. so they had to aim at the demos that will be the last to adopt those outlets

ESPN is an expensive organization so its viewer requirements are larger than another outlet may require

You are being disingenuous again.

Politics and sports have always been intertwined. It is why we had USA vs whatever programming. It always is a major player in athletics. Politics is always been part, why does the President show up to throw out first pitch?
