No players who don't have long term deals in place so no pre-arb or arbitration players. Mad Bum signed 5/35m and 2 more club options for an additional 21 million so he's under control for 7/56 mil. Some others include Adam Eaton and Jose Quintana

By arb and pre arb I mean guys like Kris Bryant and Bryce Harper not guys who signed long term deals to eat up free agent years

Rizzo signed something like 7/42m a couple years ago.

Quintana would be in arbitration this year, so would Eaton, if they didn't have their deals. So in that aspect they aren't that underpaid

I'm not sure what you're trying to say with your qualifier.

I meant guys on one year arb deals not guys who signed long term so you can't say Bryce Harper but you can say Odubel Herrera for example

He's probably going to produce close to $200 million in surpass value on that sea when you look at WAR/$

Quintana and Eaton aren't really that underpaid then. Quintana would probably make 10 mil tops in arb this year and will make 7. He has better value next year possibly. The team options are the best part about his deal. Same goes for Eaton. They have almost identical deals actually

Exactly. It's just the single best deal in all of sports when you look at value and the angels are lucky that he wanted to sign a long deal out of arbitration

Also Altuve made 3.5 mil last year and will make 4.5 next year from the deal he signed in 2013. He has team options for 6 and 6.5 in 18 and 19

Jose Altuve. The Astros have him locked up for $4.5 million next year plus team options of $6.0 million in 2018 and $6.5 million in 2019. If the Astros can't get Altuve signed to a long-term deal after next season, they basically have the equivalent of two franchise tags on him except Altuve will be paid $6 millon instead of $16+ million like NFL franchise players are paid.

It's probably altuve if not trout. Need to actually look at their surplus WAR numbers but that's an incredible deal for the Astros

Also, stuff like this serves as a good reminder to how crazy valuable pre arb players are

Did not read the OP too closely, but I think you are looking for these guys:

Goldy
Rizzo
Trout
Altuve
Sale
Bum
Pre-2016 Cutch

I would guess Altuve is probably the best bang for your buck (most value per $), but that is a different question than best deal.

For example, Rizzo may cost $7 million and provide 5 WAR. Trout may cost $24 million and provide 9 WAR. Would I pay an extra $17 million to go from Rizzo to Trout? Hell yeah, but a guy like Altuve or Rizzo is probably the best value in terms of value per $.

This thread wasn't well thought out. Most underpaid MLB players have had arbitration/free agent years bought out... or in the process. It'll take some researching to nail some down.

Best bet would be to be to pick some imports. Even with the posting fee, Yu Darvish has been good value. Ian Kinsler has been good value in Detroit as well. John Lackey maybe?
