This is at LEAST the 7th-8th times the benches have cleared and we've only played 16 games.

This is the first game where physical altercation actually occurred. Been a weird season.

I'm not opposed to the "bad boy" or chippy attitude of our team by any means, but Ventura needs to check himself. He hasn't been in the wrong every time this season, but tonight he fricked up. It appears Eaton said something first but he HAS to learn to keep his cool cuz teams are going to keep trying to get under his skin.

Yeah, it's no secret that YV is a hothead. Great attitude on the mound, but opposing teams are going to continue to try to set him off until he proves he can channel that rage.

Exactly. The kid is only 23 so I'm not too concerned yet. Baseball players are cocky in general, let alone a 23 year old kid who just got promoted to being the ace of the defending AL champs and signed a big arse contract. Of course he's full of piss and vinegar...he's the shite and he knows it.

Hopefully over the next couple of years he'll learn that he's not that special and that he needs to stay hungry and humble if he wants to be great.

eaton clearly started the talking before the ball was fielded by yordano... Hosmer was in eatons face before the ref got to him. People wanna start something with this kc team, they getting it returned everytime.

get your facts straight... then talk

You're right but teams are going to keep doing this until Yordano proves he can keep his cool. If they know they can get a reaction out of Ventura and get him out of the game, they're going to keep chirping at him.

I didn't see Eaton say a word. Ventura said F you to start. At that point the first basemen headed down the line because he new Eaton would respond

If you watch from the angle out of left field, Eaton said something to Ventura first. According to MLB Network, Eaton was pissed because Ventura quick-pitched him while he was arguing with the ump. Ventura replied with a resounding "F you".

I'm not defending Ventura...he is to blame for the benches clearing. But that is what actually happened.

Hawk said during the broadcast that he thought a brawl would happen with these clubs eventually.

Hawk even called Samardzija and Sale "the Captains of Attitude" during the first game of the season and they were the two Sox ejected after the brawl.

Weird...maybe he isn't completely insane yet...

I don't mind Sale but Samardzija is a fricking loose-cannon prick. If you take him out of the equation this season, the Royals and White Sox have no issues. This all centers around him. The Ventura-Eaton incident was just the spark that ignited the real fuel between Samardzija and the Royals.

As Gregg Popovich likes to say, he just needs to get over himself a little bit.

He does a little more maturing, the sky's the limit.

yordano quick pitched him and eaton started talking shite as soon as he let go of the bat... yordano fields and replies. Sure it's immature but it's not all one-sided...

if it's going to be like the royals vs the world then so be it... this is entertaining baseball and i could careless if it goes against baseball almighty book of piety. there's a reason baseball is dying.

Backstory is that following allowing a homerun, Samardzija beaned Lorenzo Cain with the very next pitch. It was obviously intentional and this was the umpteenth time Cain has been hit by a pitch this year so he obviously wasn't pleased. Royals and White Sox dugouts cleared and had pleasantries with each other.

Fast forward to tonight and according to post-game interviews, Samardzija was being "vocal" from the dugout towards Royals players. Nothing would've happened until the Ventura-Eaton thing gave an excuse for Samardzija to come onto the field. At that point....all hell broke loose.

Tonight was not about Ventura-Eaton. It was Samardzija.

I don't doubt it.

Part of Hawk's "Captains of Attitude" rant included a brag about him bitching out a Sox manager who didn't retaliate against a certain club (he was obviously talking about Ozzie). The best part was Steve Stone's deafening silence throughout Hawk's word vomit.
