Everything is so specialized and pussified these days. Given the salaries these guys pull shouldn't we expect more for the money?

Cam Newton could probably play DE.
Adrian Peterson could probably be a nasty LB.
JJ Watt seems to be able to hold his own at TE
A lot of interior linemen could swap sides and do well.
Mike Evans would probably be sick as a defender
A number of RB could do well at SS.
I think Jarius Wright the former Arky WR would've been a great FS. He loves to hit and is a superb blocker. His game is a lot like Hines Ward.

Who else you guys got?

I think there are plenty of Wide Receivers/Corners that could swap over and play their counterpart. I am sure most of them did that very thing at the high school level and even some at the collegiate level. Likewise for the linemen. Now could they play at an NFL caliber level both ways? Highly unlikely. I think the game has evolved too much and is too physically demanding now to really allow players to play both ways full time. You'll see receivers come in and play safety on Hail Mary plays to end games/halves but outside of that or the occasional trick play, it's not likely to happen like it did with Neon Deon

The only one that actually played the position in college.

There could be several WRs that play CB and vice versa, if required.

Obviously becoming "legit" would take time just like learning any skill.

For example, Antonio Brown could be a top CB in theory.

Cole Beasley could probably be a badass kicker.

Patrick Peterson as WR as others have mentioned

I think there are probably a handful of physical receivers that could be coached to be pretty decent free safeties.

Probably. But they wouldn't be able to handle too many extra snaps. But if you're talking an OT/OG playing 6-8 snaps a game at DT in short yardage I could see that.

Probably a handful of DEs and taller OLBs could play DE. And vice versa

Cam would have to bulk before playing DE.. He'd need 25-30 lbs more on his body

I feel like defensive players have a better chance at being two-way players than offensive players...

It would have to be a defensive player converted to offense IMO. You need a lot more than athleticism to play defense in the league, and most offensive stars aren't capable.

He'd never make it because he'd have no one else to blame all of his missed tackles on.

It is highly unlikely that an offensive player would do well on defense (consistently) at any position.

Maybe not "legit," but Jerick McKinnon likely could have played RB or CB in the NFL.

He began his college career as a defensive back, transitioned to QB (triple-option QB), and made the move to RB as a senior.

Currently a RB for Minnesota, as most of us know.

Incredible athlete. Ran a 4.40, did 32 reps on the bench, and sports a 40+ inch vertical.
