Oregon State is getting a lot of coverage on their pitching instruction right now, too, and they've led the nation in shutouts this year. Just wasn't sure where to find statistics like that.

Hard to tell, but I would first go to the SEC and then pick from there. State has Butch who is pumping guys into the league as of late. I.e. Stratton, Lindgren, Holder.....all have/had first round talent.

I have a great deal of admiration for Dunn for what he's done at LSU, but I didn't know if I was biased with my purple and gold glasses.

Since 2000 16 players attended USC and then went on to play in the Big Leagues, 12 of those 16 were pitchers.

I'd worry about my arm getting abused. Rice always has good pitchers, but if my kid were considering schools, I wouldn't let him near the campus. I love Skip, but the same goes for LSU when he was the coach. Augie has a pretty bad rep at Texas, though I don't know if it's deserved.

I don't want to see guys performing well or getting drafted, I want to see them with their arms intact after graduation. USC has sent a lot of guys to the pros, but not one guy has pitched 1000 IP in his career since Barry Zito. It's at least a concern, though I pin Prior on the Cubs, not USC. Kennedy is more of a fluke thing.

Craig Cozart was an amazing pitching coach at UCF. Believe he's at High Park now. He did an amazing job of getting guys drafted who went in drafted in high school. I'll try to find some evidence.

UCLA and it's not fair. They beat most schools by pitched for the last 4 years...

Once they starting beating the Pac with pitching, it was obviousy they were going to win the CWS...because no SEC could handle them.

And that proved to be true. If you can handle the Pac and win - you're most likely going to win the CWS 80% based on history. So frick them.

Glad to see they aren't back.

Sadly...as a USC fan. I hate fricking hate that school.

Oregon State...is hit and miss...and mostly about getting lucky with some talent.

Oregon State...got to give credit where it's due...but...seriously, that program has had some crazy awesome playing when it mattered...mind you...none of this shite is luck...because luck doesn't win...but they have played great when it mattered -

Just like the NCAA basketball tournament.

But ASU, USC and UCLA have had better pitching professionally.

Tom House didn't do much for the overall program...but he helped individuals.

But USC hasn't been getting the cream of the crop.

Oregon State has and UCLA has. Baseball is a funny sport - it's all hit and total miss and has nothing to do with football.

you can't really use major league success as a statistic. What pro's do with the pitchers when they get their has a major effect.
