When will another heavyweight emerge to capture the public's attention?

Apologies if this is an obvious question but I am a casual observer. I remember Tyson, Holyfield, etc. Does boxing have a marketable big guy?

I assume the OP was alluding to American fighters. The casual US fight fan won't care about a British contender unless he's a rival for an American counterpart.

He got arrested for weed a couple weeks ago in Tuscaloosa, but other than that nothing. He just hasn't fought since February.

Not sure why Wilder doesn't get more pub though. He's got a marketable personality. WBC heavyweight champ.
He's 38-0 and 37 of his wins are by knockout.

He's trying to schedule a fight with Anthony Joshua to unify the belts but Joshua is dodging any talks like a bitch.

If the fight ever happens then after Wilder KOs Joshua then he would get tons of publicity and hype as the undisputed heavyweight champion of the world.

Marciano1 says Wilder only schedules dudes who aren't worth a shite and he seems to know a lot about boxing.

He's a big KTFO waiting to happen. Washed up Klitschko put him on the canvas. He's a hype job.....tall, big muscles, glass jaw.

1. He's not good
2. Al Haymon is his promoter
3. Boxing fans know that 1 and 2 are true, therefore they don't care about him.

That's what Wilder and Haymon want you to think. Joshua is the bigger draw and wants Wilder to go to the UK. Wilder and Haymon don't want any part of that.

Also, Haymon doesn't want to risk Wilder getting knocked out of the ring just yet...he wants to make as much as he can off of that VERY mediocre fighter before he cashes him out. When Wilder fights a live opponent, you'll know that Haymon is ready to collect.

They won't because boxing sucks. Horrible judges, too expensive and no following. MMA is the leader. There is seldom a questionable result in MMA.

Sorry to hear about Wilder fricking your gf.

Can't be easy getting seeing a jacked 6'7" black dude giving your girl the BBC.

I don't ever see boxing becoming as relevant as it used to be.

There simply are too many other entertainment options, including more sports options than ever before.
