Is there a date where they went from dominating the rest of the country to being a low tier power 5 conference. We can pin point to the big ten being down after florida ripped ohio state to shredds and then they were dominate over next 6-7 years but now they just arent very good at football anymore. What happened, where did it all go wrong

You are asking for a specific date that occurred when an entire football conference supposedly started being "bad?"

It started when the programs began hiring sub-par coaches.

So 2013.

The Universties of the SEC have really put a focus on academics in recent years. I think this has hurt athletics.

When the so called top tier programs started hiring Derek Dooley, muschamp, butch jones, ed o. Just a lot of bad coaching hires in the last few years. Couple that with saban taking any player he wants from any state and this is what you have.

a lot of it is coaching.

Miles, Beiliema, sumlin, etc are usually outcoached by the coaches of the bowl teams they are playing.

It's all about the coaches. The SEC used to have the best coaches, by a long shot. Now we have Saban and a bunch of mid tier guys.

SEC was an arms race. That boosted a lot of schools for a while, but once it caught up and schools were hiring and firing coaches and paying huge buyouts, it left most programs damaged.

That's what happens in arms races, the losers lose badly

Sherman's neckties retarded infrastructure and made it difficult for the confederates to transport supplies and sustenance.

That, and Little Nicky.

SEC used to be full of elite coaches, not so anymore. Only one elite coach. In fact, not sure we have even "very good" coaches in the conference anymore.
