Nothing else matters besides your impact position

Impact and impact position. Everything else is irrelevant. For example- Mr. Jim Furyk

1. Don't stand too close to the ball after you hit it
2. Do you inhale or exhale during the swing?

Transitioning to left side and turning the lower body out of the way, see Vijay!s hip bump.
But obviously impact

e.g. i can make a golf swing without hitting the ball
Just like the most important part of a basketball shot is releasing it and then making it. So Rick Barry making ~90% of his 6300 free throws isn't somehow diminished because he shot them underhand.

Whoever said impact isn't important is clueless. There are a lot of ways to make a golf swing, but getting into the right impact slot is most important to maximize consistency.
I think most amateur golfers completely underestimate the importance of clearing their lower half through the swing. Most think it's all shoulders and arms. Really consistent ball strikers clear their hips so well that you can see their arse at impact. Look at the following examples. 4 vastly different different "swings", but look at the consistency at the most important time.
Rickie Impact:
DJ impact:
Jim Fyruk Impact:
John Daly:

No swaying off the ball,
Head behind ball at impact
Head behind ball at impact

The address. Most bad swings are caused by a bad position at address.

You are thinking way to much in your swing if this runs through your mind.
but for me, tempo is the most important part of the swing. hands down. When my tempo is nice and consistent i'm usually playing some decent golf.

Head still and behind the ball is pretty important.

First off, it was a joke. Secondly, those phrases have been used by hustlers for years.

Rhythm.
No rhythm = no timing
