Need to add some height somewhere. They're small from 1-5.

Lebron got to literally hand pick his team... this is the result.

Even though they were the top seed, they clearly aren't a top team.
They're a top 5-6 team in the NBA, but that's not good enough to contend for a championship right now. I guess they should pick a star, bank on Brooklyn continuing to be shite (safe bet), land another top 3 pick, and hope to win with a different core.

Trade the pick for PG. With Georg, at least you have someone who can pretend to play defense on LBJ.

It's gonna honestly take Lebron retiring for another East team to be favored again. He's just so damn good and really gets the most out of his teammates which makes him even tougher to consistently beat. Lebron will win the East for another 3-5 years imo.
And the east just isn't good and hasn't been good since Jordan retired.

Celtics need more size and scoring...only guys that can halfway slow down James are 6'7"+ Badasses or big rim protectors.

It's a sad state of affairs when the #1 seed in the East is comprised almost completely of really good role players other teams have cast off, & a surprising uptick in scoring of about 8 PPG more from IT4 than expected
Was really hoping the East got the top 3 picks this year (& most years recently) to help make the East more competitive.
It's such a snooze fest playoff conference for the fans who aren't locked onto a single player. Honestly happy those of you that can switch allegiances can, it's just foreign to me, I've always been a team first guy

Boston's ONLY offseason priority ought to be figuring out a way best Cleveland over next 3-4 yrs...screw developing teenagers and hanging onto "solid" "Gritty" players. Hell, call up Jerry West to swing some kind of mega deal...isn't he looking for another gig now?

as is you have a team that can get you to the ECF. thats all you need when lebron is around. just keep getting to the ECF, hope you have a miracle breakthrough one year, and just wait for lebron to retire while you develop your young talent
this isnt difficult. they have a very simple and straight forward path here and none of it has anything to do with what youre suggesting

Trade pick, IT, and brown for DeMarcus Cousins
Sign Gordon Hayward
Sign Patty Mills
PG: Patty Mills/Marcus Smart
SG: Avery Bradley/Jae Crowder
SF: Gordon Hayward/Gerald Green
PF: Al Horford/Amir Johnson
C: DeMarcus Cousins/Kelly Olynyk

If you can trade for George AND sign Hayward, well then you might have something.
They kind of play the same position, but it doesn't really matter.

They really can't swing a deal / sign players that makes them a superteam. Didn't they just commit a lot of cap space to fricking Al Horford?

If Olynk can take out Love he can probably take out Lebron

Only thing I came up with to get them even close....Celts should trade Isaiah, Bradley, and the #1 pick for Anthony Davis, then sign Gordon Hayward and JJ Redick and get Jaylon Brown on HGH to grow up fast and only guard LeBron ...still have Brooklyns pick next year too..
thats actually not bad

You do realize there are Cavs fans out there, right? I went to my first game during Kyrie's rookie year when they were terrible, for example

No we'd accept and draft Lonzo Ball just to troll Lavar/the league/the Lakers/ourselves
