I'm a resident, not a native and didn't got to HS in Louisiana so I'm more asking than making a point. By region I'm talking High School talent

In the last 8 years or so I'm pretty familiar with a lot of the high profile players, but not beyond that.

Seems like North Louisiana has produced some exceptional players especially relative to population, and really all major metro areas (NOLA, BR, Lafayette/Acadiana) all have a several off the top of my head. Overall it blows me away how many great athletes come from these parts.

Obviously New Orleans historically has a lot given population, but how do they compare? Are certain areas more consistent at different positions?

For BR area, off the top of my head I'm thinking:
Jeremy Hill
Trindon Holiday
Marcus Spears
La'El Collins
Terrance Broadway (ULL)
Eric Reid
Darry Beckwith
Kendall Beckwith (a little north I know)
Jeremy Stewart (Stanford)
Tracy Porter
(a few kids that went to Bama)

I know I'm missing a bunch, but that's pretty impressive, IMO.

It's not just La. but there is the I-20 corridor. Traveling west it goes from Jackson, Miss to Monroe, Ruston, Shreveport/Bossier, East Texas (think Longview, Marshall, Tyler).

I would tend to agree. Between the Mannings, Marshall Faulk, Ed Reed, Odell, Fournette, etc., the 504 makes a pretty good habit of producing all-world talent.

Are we counting the river parishes as "Nola area"? Pound-for-pound, that is where the most LA talent is.

Orleans parish on its own is so overrated. But if you include Jefferson, St Tammany, & St Charles then yea, it's the best.

Id say St Charles parish to Assumption is probably the best in the state, if we're talking smaller areas.

I would say either the NOLA Westbank or the River Parishes.

Westbank: Karr, Landy, Walker, Ehret, Cox, Shaw, West Jeff, and Higgins

River Parishes: Destrehan, Hahnville, East & West St John, St James, Lutcher, Riverside, SCC

Hahnville/Destrehan:

Darius Reynaud, Alfred Blue, LaRon Landry, DaWan Landry, Kentrell Lockett, Jordan Jefferson, Rickey Jefferson, Ed Reed, Mike Scifres, Darryl Richard, etc..

More to come too.

Kirk Merritt, Rickey Preston, Brandon Singleton, Dwaine Thomas.
