He's been to four NBA finals and won two NBA championships. He's been a coach with the Heat in some capacity since 1997 and was an assistant when they won it all in 05-06.

Miami's roster is actually looking better than I thought it would, and in the East they will still likely make the playoffs for a while.

But with an aging Wade and no LeBron... How long does Spoelstra last in Miami and what is his legacy?

As long as he wants to. The guy is a great coach.

His legacy will be determined by what he does from here on out without Lebron.

I don't see any reason to believe he won't be there for the next 3-4 years anyway.

Hand picked by Riley so you've gotta think he's not going anywhere. He's probably the most underrated coach in the league by the public, but very well respected around the league.

He's a good coach with pretty ridiculous experience for someone his age. He isn't GREAT, but he is good and players really like him. He had to manage superstars and did well with it.

Also, he is a Pat Riley protege. I expect him to coach in the league for another decade or so and end up in the front office. He can ride out his resume for the rest of his life.

My evaluation of Spo starts now. See what he can do without the Big 3. If he continues the success I'll be somewhat surprised.

I mean... Look at Mike Brown with Lebron and without Lebron...

The results aren't exactly the greatest

Getting rehired by the team that fired you is kind of impressive

Mike Brown couldn't win big with multiple All-Stars on a roster.

He'll be in Miami a while. And if he's not, teams will fire their current coaches as soon as he hits the market to go after him. Easily a top 10 coach in the league, probably top 5.

Yeah ...ok. Same guy in 2yrs before Lebron with a healthy D Wade never cracked 50 wins and finished 3rd in the division both years.

Wade is gimpy, Bosh isnt as good as Wade in his prime. Good luck tho Spo

Both years were rebuilding years from the 15 win season they had before.

And take a look at the rosters of those teams btw.

This is the most important thing, and it's what made Phil Jackson so successful.

Not saying he's the Zenmaster by any stretch of the imagination, but he's shown he can manage superstars and their egos.
