Looks like man-man but also looks like a man-man 1-3-1.

It's a pack line defense. Like a sagging man-to-man.

That why it looks like a 1-3-1

It's called Packline. Incredibly hard to score down low. If you can't hit threes from the top of the arc, you won't score much. I'm not a basketball expert so someone correct me if I'm wrong

I'd say that it wouldn't work near as well.

As others have said, it is a pack-line defense. I believe it was developed by Tony's father, Dick Bennett.

You have to have incredible guard play and be able to shoot the ball. Duke had both of those and did really well scoring in transition.

The only other team that would do well is Wisky or someone else who runs a similar defense. Keep it low scoring and understand our philosophy.

Packline. Play in gaps on perimeter but pressure the ball.

3/4 front the post on top side. Perimeter defenders cannot get beat baseline but they don't force middle.

I think Wichita St and Arizona would take that D to work personally.

Nothing really sets the top of the key apart from other spots on the floor.
