Damn Speedy, that's a ton of research & effort you put into this thread. So I'll go with '73 as well, just because you say so

I see all of the examples in your OP are from the NBA... Are we free to discuss MVP snubs from other sports?

So the MVP shouldn't be voted on and should just go to the person with the highest PER?

2006 should have been Kobe over Nash, and 2007 should have been CP3 over Kobe, but b/c Kobe was snubbed the year before, they had to give it to him the next year so CP3 got snubbed.

Kobe over Cp3 was pretty bad

Several of these are very close and draw no objection from me. Value placed on certain stat lines obviously change over time.

I would argue Chris Paul over Kobe in 2008.

LINK

Also Shaq over Nash in 2005.

1993 was the right choice. Barkley basically made Phoenix the Finals team and he was coming off the 92 Olympics. The Suns improved 9 games and won the Pacific from finishing 3rd the year before.

Yes, that's exactly what those examples were. I simply posted the players that had the higher PER and nothing else.

It's about more than just stats...

Because if statistics was the only qualifier, James Harden would have won last season.

2011 should have been Dwight not LeBron. Dwight absolutely deserved it that season.
