I grew up watching it. Today seems awful compared. It's hard to give a crap about it outside of the Pelicans.

I like it more now. I loved the classic 90s uniforms though.

The 1992 all star game was on NBA tv over the holidays and good god every player was a HOF player. They actually passed and made jump shots and had strategy. It wasn't just dunking and run to the bucket and see if I can fouled. Or throw up 40 threes a game

It was a thing of beauty

Plus let's not forget, we had NBA inside stuff with Ahmad Rashad on every Saturday morning to get my 12 year pants going crazy for basketball for the weekend.

Watching that with a massive bowl of Cinnamon Toast Crunch. Life didn't get any better

Things were always better when you were young. Rather it be sports, tv shows, music, etc. When you were young you had no worries, everything was just fun. I am sure when the kids today are 30/40yrs old they will be saying the same thing.. Man remember when basketball was better in 2010!! Yall remember when lebron, durant, and curry was in the league! Basketball was better then.

Pelicans suck. Why care about them? I would say most people forget they even exist.

Alot less physical in today's game. I prefer when Pippen dunked over Ewing and stand's over him. When you went in the paint there was no such thing as an easy bucket. A simple hand check is a foul this days.

80's was the best decade easily. Magic Lakers and Bird Celtics. Had Jordan in his scoring prime with Charles, Hakeem. Still and Dr J and Moses Malone. Pistol still played. Many many games where scoring was well above 100. Dunk contest was at its best.

Remember when that extra physical Pistons team won it all in 2004, went to the finals in 2004 and 2005, and went to 6 straight ECF between 2003-2008? Yeah, everyone hated them and their brand of basketball was tough to watch for the vast majority of NBA fans.

The game today is as good as its ever been. Don't let nostalgia or PJ tell you any different.

It was the best decade based off the "Dream Team." This team globalized the game.

Disagree. It was a 2 team league. I don't think the 90s were that compelling either.

I am only a sample of one, but I am much more interested now.

I was way more into it, but I was also 10 years old in 1991. Everything was cooler. I think the 24 hour news cycle and over saturation has diminished a lot of things regarding sports. Like someone said, nba inside stuff was awesome. We got to watch it once a week, it was something to look forward to. Now you can find nba content 24/7. To me, there is just something about having to anticipate things a little that makes them more enjoyable. Maybe I'm just old

And the games bored you to death with those 87-83 final scores

Could you imagine NBA Jam w/ today's players?

Curry & Lebron would be unstoppable on it.

Then you've got about 12 or so other players that'd be pretty good. Westbrook/Durant would be nice. Then it's crap on crap from there out.

That tends to happen when you're watching an all star game from nearly 24 years ago.

1992 All Star Game lead by qtr: +13 West, +24 West, +32 West, +40 West = 153-113 West
2015 All Star Game lead by qtr: +11 West, +1 West, Tied, +5 West = 163-158 West

2015 All Star Game FG%: 49.4%

1992 All Star Game free throw attempts: 34
2015 All Star Game free throw attempts: 15

The 2015 All Star game blows the 1992 game out of the water in every facet other than nostalgia and context. The original Dream Team was assembled for the upcoming Olympics and basketball was having a changing of the guard from the Lakers/Celtics/Pistons dominated 1980s to the Jordan-led Bulls. You also had Magic Johnson coming back from his HIV retirement and putting on a show in the game which obviously pulled at the heart strings of most fans.

That being said, the game was a clunker where the West won 153-113. As remarkable as Magic's all-around performance was - 25 points, 9 assists, 5 rebounds, and 2 steals while shooting 9-12 in 29 minutes - Westbrook put on just as good a show in 2015 - 41/1/5/3 on 16-28 shooting including 5-9 from 3 in just 25 minutes. Westbrook was 1 point shy of the all-star game scoring record and broke the record for points in a half with 27. Magic also had 7 turnovers compared to 1 for Westbrook.

Look, the 1992 All-Star Game is considered a classic for one reason and one reason only - a Top 10 all-time player came back from retirement due to HIV and put on a show. His one-on-one performances against Isaiah and Jordan were legendary. However, pointing to that game as the pinnacle of NBA play is naive. Hell, using any NBA all star game as evidence for the quality of NBA play is poor logic, but I only did so to counter your point.
