If you're that big of a conspiracy theorist, then shut your mouth because Stern rigged the lottery so we could get Anthony Davis

the bandwagoners are strong in this thread. I wonder how many of these Lakers "fans" have been to any Lakers games outside of the New Orleans Arena

No way on God's green earth will the Lakers miss the play-offs. The NBA will never let that happen. You can take it to the bank.

You and probably 80% of people who were discussing it.

I would bet a paycheck every NBA analyst in the country disagrees with you

That it's easier for Gasol, Nash, or Howard to play better individually with Kobe on the floor? Ok, hand me your paycheck.

If Stern were doing this, wouldn't he have just accepted the Chris Paul trade?

It was rigged because ESPN would have nothing to talk about. They do not realize that there are any other teams playing in the NBA this year.

I actually thought the rockets got more calls towards the end. I had no horse in the race either
i hate to blame officials and start bitching bc my team lost, but at the beginning of the 4th qtr, lakers down 5, there were some highly questionable fouls and the lakers were in the penalty with 10 minutes left in the game. I knew my rockets were fricked.

LA big market = lakers and clippers.
Going to clippers builds more viewers/sales if not the same amount if he went to the lakers. Imagine it now. BOTH teams are in the playoffs, I guarantee it creates more revenue than the lakers and some smaller team.

If the lakers deal went through, benson probably wouldn't have gotten the 1st pick of the draft and the sale may not have fallen through.

I love my horny-cans, but I'm going with rigged for AD

Stern blocking that trade had nothing to do with LA. He blocked it because he wanted a better deal for the Hornets, which he owned at the time. He wanted to clear cap room so it'd be a better team to buy. The Lakers trade did the opposite.

And I seriously wouldn't be surprised if he rigged the lottery either. He was desperately searching for an owner.

ETA: The Hornets winning the lottery wasn't the plan the whole time. The Clippers trade just made the Hornets a better organization for the long run, while the Lakers trade would make them solid for a year, then we'd have been in a worse situation than we started in.
