I've heard Cypress is beautiful as well. Pebble's definitely the nicest course I've played. Weather was great when we were out there.

Nicest I've walked is Augusta, followed by Royal County Down in Northern Ireland. That is an outstanding course.

Years ago, I used to work the International @ Castle Pines as a spotter/scorer for CBS. After I worked a few years and I was comfortable, I asked the Assoc Producer Chuck Will what the chances were of working the Masters. When he said Slim died 5 years ago that pretty much answered the question. As you would imagine I guess the green jackets impose all kinds of restrictions on them. He said he had the same crew for a number of years.

The coverage was brutal. Looks like we'll only get 2 days of coverage worth a shite. Whatever day Spieth, Day, Phil, DJ, Snedz, etc. are playing Pebble, and then Sunday.

Will they all play Pebble on the same day? I'm pretty sure Sunday is the only day I'll make watching a priority.

Yes. Saturday.

The TV networks know what they're doing.

They will make the cut Saturday after everyone has played a round at each course. Everyone making the cut will play the 4th round @ Pebble on Sunday. Don't quote me, but I think I heard them say 25 Pro-Am teams would make the cut.

They were talking about how tough it must be to play with someone with an 18 handicap (Berman). Basically, you have to go into it with a lot of patience. This tournament is really like no other these guys will play.

The big name pros are used to it. They play with 3 ams on Wednesday's of regular Tour events they play in. And most of them recognize that a lot of the ams are responsible for the big bucks they are playing for.

At least on the Monterrey Peninsula you've got some beautiful scenery to look at.

Didn't watch any yesterday, but was Berman's fat arse sweating profusely and hacking up the course as usual? He is horrible to watch, but of course he gets tons of coverage.

This is different than regular Monday and Wednesday ams. Pros use those days to chat a little with the ams but mainly for course knowledge. They are actually trying to make a cut with these hacks.

I'm not sure if there's much correlation between quality of partnered amateur and scoring... Would love to get my hands on that data.

PGA West is the same but the Am field isn't as impressive since Hope died and the courses aren't as historic obviously.

How can I get in touch with you? I am newly registered to the board but a longtime lurker. Had a few questions about some threads, discussions, etc. Is there a way to private message on here or would one needs an email address? Thanks in advance!

Phil -3 thru 4 on the front at MP. Par 71 with four par 5s hes yet to play. Easiest of the courses. He could shoot stupid low.

Edit: -4 thru 5. #6 is the first par 5. It's happening. 59 is coming. Phil has returned.

18 handicap (Berman)

After watching him swing if he's an 18 handicap then I'm a scratch. (and not even close).

The Am field changed when they ran George Lopez off. Then they dropped the amount of amateurs. It was great when George Lopez was involved
