L'Augusta doesn't have trees and is one of the hardest courses I've ever played. Frick David Toms

You don't have to have trees to be tough, but MSU is pretty wide open. Probably about half of the fairways are guarded now and even then some of them are only halfway guarded. It will toughen up the course for sure.

It'll be a few years though.

When they built the new practice facility, they turned #10 into a short par 3 (from a short par 4) and shortened #18 to about 500 yards (compared to when it was 651 yards from the tips). So its a par 71. There is a long par 3 (#15) and there is plenty of room behind the tee boxes. I wish they would move the tee boxes back about 100 yards and have a short dog leg par 4 and make it a par 72.

LINK

1st shot went straight into the woods (lateral hazard). Im so used to lining up left for my fade/slice, I haven't quite got used to it going straight.

Rest of the shots split the middle of the fairway. 3rd one went the furthest.

Please at the last swing. It was taken from March. Swing and game has come a long way.

Also, there is some cool tee action going on during the slow motion clips.

ETA: Need to keep my head still during transition and down swing.

Were you in a hurry to get somewhere while teeing off?

One day I'll try to get some swings on here so you guy can have a few laughs

I'm not one to critique swings, but it looks like you should let the downswing start from the ground up, and let your hips fire through first.

Seems like your shoulders are initiating the start of the downswing.

Shot -6 in a Shamble today at Lakewood. A little errant off the tee after the wind picked up on the back 9...

Cool drill...put down a club box parallel to your target. Put a ball down next to the box. Put the toe against the box and have the ball even with the sweet spot. Swing and try to not hit the box. Great way to keep from swinging from the outside.

Yeah, Im trying to get my hips more "with" my swing. I think that's where I'm losing distance. I feel like I have my swing plane figured out now, so hopefully I can move on to getting my hips working with the swing.

I've seen something similar with some tees. But that sounds better. I got tons of club boxes laying around from purchases. I'll try and get on the range and give it a try. Thanks. Appreciate any critiques.

Thinking about your back pointing to the target at the end of the backswing, and your belt buck pointing to the target after the follow through are some good thoughts.

Getting it synched up is the trial and error part.

Don't worry about swing plane right now. More importantly, focus or rotating your shoulders and not swaying

I think it's a grip issue.
