I hated la tour the first few times I played it. Just had to learn how to tame it a little.

I think we may end up playing The Bridges even with the punched greens. FIL doesn't sound like he wants to leave this place anymore and I can lose balls anywhere
I was surprised how tight the oaks was on some holes. Playing it for the first time didn't help either. I lost a few balls on shots where I thought there was no way I could reach the hazards, and then flew the ball into them. Course needs a little TLC in a few spots, but it wasn't bad for $49

I heard bridges is real tight. Everyone says bring balls. Might want to make a Walmart run.

I will tomorrow
You don't have to miss by a whole lot at The Oaks either. FIL was a club pro and played a few events in the Hogan tour back in the day and said he couldn't remember too many courses that were tighter off the tee. I don't know about all that, but I know I hit several shots that weren't really far off and couldn't find my ball

Chipping has to be the hardest thing to come back and do well after you don't play for a while.

We were joking today that I should miss greens intentionally and get up and down instead of going for them and losing my ball. My short game is so far ahead of everything else it's ridiculous. If I could keep the ball on the course I'd be ok. Shot around 100 with 8 or 9 penalty shots today

The bridges isn't real tight. If you get going off line, there are a lot of hazards, but the fairways are fairly generous. You can't hit driver on a lot of holes though because you'll bring trouble into play.

IIRC Lost Key had some pretty good sized fairways but if you missed it was gone. The oaks fairways are tight, and if you miss them the ball is gone. I think it was actually harder than Lost Key, and we played Lost Key in 35 mph winds

We're in a casino. Will be hitting up the breakfast buffet with all the gambling degenerates here shortly.
