You are free to think whatever you wish to think. The numbers do not lie though. If you want to disregard actual things that happened and live in a fantasy world, then that is your right and i'm not here to take that away from you.

Are y'all seriously arguing about who the best loser was?
Atlanta was realistically probably the 6th or 7th best team in the league when basketball games actually matter.
You could argue Houston was 3rd. I think other teams out West could have provided a tougher matchup for Cleveland in the Finals, though.

Actual thing that happened. Hawks were swept in the conference finals and looked like the worse team in the conference semis before Wall broke his hand in 5 places.

I agree with all of this.

If the series split would've been 1-1 then that would be a fine tie breaker to use. Unfortunately it wasn't. Those games were played and the Hawks were better. 3rd place feels pretty good, as should 4th. Nothing wrong with being a little worse than a solid Atlanta team. Now that this is settled I have to get back to work, have a great day everyone!

You are such an obvious troll. I'm sorry your team sucked arse when the games mattered.

Numbers don't lie, but they don't tell the whole story either, like the fact that neither Harden or Howard played the 2nd time the teams played. Houston was #2 in the clearly much tougher conference, got deeper in the playoffs by 1 game against a superior foe. If Hou and Atl did play a series, Hou would be favored but troll on.

That's true and they should be. All we have to decide something that is basically meaningless and will never actually be decided though are the 2 games that were played. Boom has made it clear to me that Houston doesn't claim moral victories so i'm not sure why playing 1 more game is relevant. Losing in 5 is not much different than losing in 4. I'm not here to claim Atlanta is better than Houston and if they met in a postseason series than Houston would be favored and in all likelihood, they would win. With that said though, the 3rd place determination is clear since that series will never happen. I really do have to get back to work though and I don't want to cause a Swagger melt down. Good season by both Houston and Atlanta.

Wouldn't mind them staying put and trying to develop some continuity. Maybe bring in Llull or another PG. Don't really need much else imo. Keep one of Jones or Smith. Let Terry, Prig, and Brewer walk. Resign McDaniels. Resign Bev
ignoring the troll, I was thinking i'd like to keep Brewer if possible not sure on the salary tbh. I do like Demo's upside, would not mind moving on from TJ and Smith.

I think they are testing out "moral victories" to see which are effective and can be used as a storyline during the offseason.
"Well, we were the bronze medalist last year...definitely reasonable to think we can improve and make the Finals this year."
"Josh Smith played four good games in the playoffs...definitely could give us 5-6."
"Extending the series against the Warriors, down 3-0, just shows what kind of heart this team has."
"Morey is going to stir it up, bro."

Letting TJ and Josh go is fine, but we need to find some playmakers. As frustrating as Smoove was at times, he could actually make things happen with the ball in his hands, something that is very lacking from most of our players. We have a team full of players who can basically only pass it around the arc or take the spot up three. We need guys who are real threats when they drive. That opens up Howard and Capela for easy alley oops.

I've never been obsessed with a team I didn't root for. What's it like? You are easily a Top 10 most active poster in Rockets threads. Very odd.

Will be tough to keep brewer. I like mcdaniels a lot as a wing defender. He's basically what brewer is offensively but much much more athletic and better defensively. I think they'll keep smith if he wants to stay and play for MLE.

I agree about Smith, wouldn't mind him sticking around but if he does there is really no need for TJ. Demo needs to get more PT next year.

That's cool, I don't know too much about him.
