While credit for the Warriors' greatness should seem to go towards their on-court play, Lacob said the team has dominated because of their superior management.

"We’re light-years ahead of probably every other team in structure, in planning, in how we’re going to go about things," he said. "We’re going to be a handful for the rest of the NBA to deal with for a long time."

Man how awesome is it gonna be if Pop & the Spurs eliminate them? I love watching them play, but my goodness just enjoy the season you're having.

What a pretentious douche. It's been the perfect storm of drafting, which is an inexact science.

Yeah. I'm sure management gave Curry some early career durability issues (e.g., his ankles), then when they signed him to an extremely team friendly deal, fixed the durability issues then made him the best player in the NBA.

Don't have a problem with his confidence. They're the defending champs and blowing everyone away.

I think the commitment to going out and hiring the best assistants, trainers, support, etc has been as instrumental to their success as the players. I'd bet there are more voices in that front office who have a say than on any other team. A guy like schlenk who is very highly regarded is in actuality probably around the fifth guy there on the pecking order on personnel decisions. They could've easily held on to Ellis. Or traded Thompson for love. They've made the right move time after time.

Mgmt hired the coaches that developed him and maximize his talents. Let's give credit where it is due.

Love the honesty, no clue why so many hate that.

And I also don't get why a few posters in here are acting like they lucked their way into this 100%. You gotta credit management for what they've built.

They have taken the culture of a silicon valley business and applied it to a sports team.

Agree.

Hey, the guy is right. I can't think of any other franchise that is setup to be dominant for years going forward.

That is well and good, but to say they're light years better is a bit ridiculous considering that a good chunk of their ability comes from the draft and the Curry contract. As already mentioned, the draft is a crapshoot, and the Curry deal was not some suave negotiating as much as it was his durability issues. For management to act like their model can be replicated is far-fetched at best.

This sort of bravado came from the Seahawks camp after their championship. Everyone would mention how they'd have trouble repeating as they resigned players and eventually paid Wilson, and lo and behold, look what has happened. There hasn't been some precipitous drop, but they're not close to the same team that won the SB.

NFL is so much different from NBA in this respect though.

the NFL is sooo much different. It's easier to hold on to your central players in the NBA than it is in the NFL

When looking at the draft as whole yes it is a crapshoot but it is not a crapshoot for each individual team. For someone like the Pelicans who have a weak FO, yes it's a crapshoot. For teams with strong front offices no it isn't a crapshoot. Who do you think is gonna make a better draft pick more times than not :

Lacob
Meyers
Kerr
Jerry West
Schlenk

Or

Benson
Demps
Loomis
