Not that the NCAA has ever given us reason to believe they operate under precedent, but I am not very concerned about this at all. The culture change the NCAA wanted all along has taken effect, the school is going above and beyond what other schools do in terms of fielding a compliance department, and McKnight's transgression predates all of that.
This.
This new allegation is fruit from the same poisonous tree.
USC has been punished. It would be like trying to re-break the leg of someone you hit with a hammer and forced them to put a full body cast on.

Still seems silly that the NCAA will just ignore it, if it's proven to be true.
Not going to be a bad thing about at least the probation will be extended.

I think it calls for an enhanced punishment based upon new evidence. They were not previously punished for paying McKnight.

good luck with that
quote:
“Any time the NCAA receives credible, new information regarding potential major violations we will look into the issue,” NCAA spokesperson Stacey Osburn said Tuesday. “USC has been working cooperatively with us regarding the matter.”If the NCAA were to find that violations occurred before the sanctions were handed down in June 2010, USC would not appear to be subject to “repeat violator” sanctions.
“For a school to be considered a repeat violator, at least one major violation must have occurred within five years after the penalty for the previous case,” Osburn said

I will say however that this is not good for recruting. We have a great group of recruits committed right now that might get scared off by all this

Kiffin and O know about the potential for an adverse impact on recruiting. They'll assure them it's all going to be a sweet Cardinal and Gold dream, ending with this class at the pinnacle of CF recruiting.
Tell 'em about it Jo Jo!
