US, Mexico and Canada Join Forces to Bid for FIFA 2026 World Cup

So let me get this straight.... Qatar hosts a world Cup independently, yet the best suited country in the world to host these kinds of events needs two other large nations?? I call bullshite on all of this.

The North American soccer ruling body will announce Monday that the United States, Mexico and Canada will make a bid to host jointly the FIFA 2026 World Cup.
ESPN FC reported earlier last week that the United States, Mexico and Canada would make a joint-bid that would “rise above politics” to host the 2026 World Cup in an expanded 48-game tournament. With the 3 nations sharing their most competitive facilities, the joint venture should be able to drastically reduce the hosting costs.
FIFA is expected to set 2026 World Cup tournament hosting requirements at its Congress meeting in Bahrain on the 11th of May, and make its final award determination in May 2020.

You have to first realize that Qatar bribed the shite out of FIFA officials to get their bid.

I like this. You know there's going to be some crazy fan who makes the road trip from Mexico City to Vancouver.

In 2026 they are expanding the tournament to 48 teams, which should equal more games. The bid says that the US will host 60 of the 80 games. Canada and Mexico will each host 10. Every game starting with the Quarterfinals will be in the US.
FIFA also likes putting the WC in a country that hasn't had it yet, so adding Canada will help. Also, Mexico hasn't hosted since 1986.
If Mexico wanted more games, we would have went with a solo bid.

That means NOLA would have a good chance to get at least one early round game, which would be pretty legit.

FIFA puts the NCAA to shame when it comes to being corrupt

Vegas new stadium, Falcons new stadium, and Jerry World are locks IMO.
ETA:
All 3 cities are massive and have plenty of hotel rooms and infrastructure to handle it. Vegas would be so fricking badass.

actually I think all men's world cup games need to be on grass so we wouldn't have a shot

jerry world and the new stadium in atlanta are locks
also think US bank stadium in minneapolis will get some games
under the assumption that we will be getting 9 of the assumed 12 sites
new york, LA, chicago, DFW, atlanta, minneapolis, SF, miami, phoenix

When the US hosted in 1994 they only used 9 venues...
Los Angeles area - Rose Bowl
San Francisco area - Stanford Stadium
Detroit area - Pontiac Silverdome
Orlando - Citrus Bowl
Dallas - Cotton Bowl
Chicago - Soldier Field
Washington DC - RFK Stadium
New York area - Giants Stadium
New England - Foxboro Stadium

The 2026 will have a drastically expanded field from that World Cup, so more stadiums will be necessary.
Also think they will want natural grass stadiums, especially after the Woman's World Cup fiasco.
