With the hiring/firing season coming up soon, who are some coaches that will be flavor of the month?

Can't figure him out. Has mostly mediocre years then a couple great. Seems to rely on seniors for a run then goes back to average until another Seth Tuttle or Koch brother comes around.

Mark Slessinger at UNO is a very good coach. I see him becoming a huge name at the right place. What he has done at UNO is impressive considering the state of UNO when he took over.

He lost to UCA.
UNO was on its death bed when Slessinger arrived. The fact that he has them competitive against some of the better teams is impressive.
If you watch them you can tell they are a very well coached team that plays better than their talent level. In the right fit I see him taking a mid-major on a tourney run.
If he stays long enough I can definitely see him bringing UNO to being one of the top SLC teams in the near future.

But bro did you see how well coached they were in the game?

Yes, it was a bad loss but you can't judge a man's entire career on one game. I don't know of one coach that doesn't have at least one bad loss on their record.

Have you actually seen them play, bro?

Pat Beilein, word is he's been pegged as WVs next coach once Huggs retires.
Also Pat Skerry at Towson. He has improved each year a 1-31 first season

Is this correctly re-stated?
he coaches up players over their 4 and 5 year careers and they learn what they need to learn and develop physically, and when they are seasoned he can combine one great recruit with a lot of team players into a competitive team.

Well, this is the story of a successful coach at a school that won't lure 4 and 5 star (in quality; not literally) basketball players. Properly evaluate the 2/3 stars, have a good recruiting pipeline, then coach them up they can play with anyone in the country as juniors and seniors.
A lot of these coaches go to "bigger" schools, get the 4 and 5 stars, but struggle dealing with the egos. They fail, go back to a 2-3 star program, but aren't able to establish the same recruiting pipeline, and fizzle away.

Kent State is in first place in the MAC so Rob Senderhoff might be a name to watch out for. Randy Bennett from St Mary's has had a solid program for about a decade. Wonder if any west coast schools give him a call? A lot of this depends on what happens in the tournament. USC hired Andy Enfield after FGCU beat Georgetown and SDSU. That was a classic overreaction hire and they're paying for it now. At least one of those happens every hire/fire cycle.

I suspect Mike White at La. Tech will get some looks from any SEC school looking for a coach (Bama and MSU seem to be the most likely). From New Orleans; played at Ole Miss; young guy who has made Tech a legitimate contender after 20+ years of nothing

Also Archie Miller from Dayton. Made the Elite 8 last year and are heading to the tournament again this year.

I think Randy Bennett has made it clear he's staying at St. Mary's.

The problem is how average the team is until that great recruit develops over 3 years. It's incredibly frustrating watching a team made up of unathletic but fundamentally sound white guys catch lightning in a bottle every 4 years.

This. Not sure if he's as good as his brother, but a damn good coach in his own right.

There's another pretty good coach in North Louisiana who would do a great job at Alabama and doesn't get near the press White does... Keith Richard at ULM.

Yeah, I was coming in to say Keith Richard should get a bigger job soon. He walked in to a huge mess in Monroe, APR problems, less scholarships and no talent. He has the team playing great ball now. Dude did amazing work.
