I believe the ATP balls (my favorite) are used for all the Masters events. I have no idea about the 250 and 500 events.
I've been to IW the last 3 years and I can confirm that the balls fly through the hot/dry/thin air, but the gritty courts combined with ATP balls having a lot of felt causes the ball to check and pop up high. It's a weird dynamic that probably explains the unpredictability of the tourney.

It depends. Gut is inconsistent. She's already on her 3rd set of strings this month. Other times she's gotten up to 2 months. She's starting to hit the ball harder though. I'm going to try to keep her current setup but it is getting to be quite expensive.
