Knew she was going to lose after that, same ole Caroline.

She was already getting emotional right off the court.

Petra played a hell of a match. Never really got overly emotional when she got down. Fantastic third set by both players.

Gonna be weird for her to go from Ashe to playing court 11 in a few days.

Speaking of harsh schedules....my daughter competed in a tournament last weekend. Her first round match was at 2 on Saturday. She won 10-8 in a 3rd set tiebreaker in 100 degree heat. The match ended at 430. She took the court at 530 and dispatched the 4 seed. We got home around 9 o clock at night. She had to square off against the 1 seed at 8 the next morning. This weekend she is in a tournament and will have to win 6 matches in 3 days to win the tournament.

Thanks quail man. She's a rising junior for sure. Trying to get her qualified for the Easter Bowl. Running out of time in the 12's though. Shooting for the 14's.

PK on her A game is amazingly good. When she won Wimbledon the first time, for example: that version of PK is nigh unbeatable. Not sure if she can raise her game to that level on a surface other than grass, though.

Keys beats the shite out of the ball. She can rally with Serena.

Easy breezy for a teenager. I can't recall ever getting actually legitimately fatigued in a junior tournament. Perhaps 100 degree temps could do it, though.

Would you be willing to say what she's ranked nationally or regionally? Even if you just wanted to give a range, that'd be fine.

My buddy's son is like 11 or 12 nationally in 12s. He plays in 14s as well. There are only a few kids his age that appear to be appreciably better than him. As in, like two or three. After that, he's right in the mix. His dad is having to make a decision about if/where to send him for his advanced tennis education.

Top 100 sectional ranking. She didn't start competing until she was almost 12; late start. She will play her first "designated" tournament in October.

Is he thinking of sending his son to a full time boarding academy? I would not do this. There is plenty of excellent training locally (Southern California). To each his own though depending on what your goals are. I have met a few kids already going to an "online" school instead of a real school. Here again I can't imagine doing this. Every situation and family is different and has different goals. I just want my kid to get a scholarship.

Tough read about Mardy's anxiety. It's wild how you can be so mentally strong when you're younger, then this stuff starts eating at you as you age.
