Play Ultimate!

As a former member of Team USA and a 4-time world champion this makes my heart soar. Many have scoffed at the notion that Ultimate is an Olympics-worthy sport and one in which the USA should dominate.

It happens to be one of the fastest-growing sports on the planet and is rapidly taking off in soccer-mad South America and Africa. It would not surprise me to see Ultimate supplant soccer in popularity, and there are already professional Ultimate leagues in the US.

This is no longer just a game played by hippies in the park. This is a real sport played by talented athletes who are dedicated to training their bodies to play at the highest possible level.

Edited for spelling soar wrong.

Ah, yes...the usual TD jackassery. The guys in the pro leagues are tested. I don't think any of them are that interested in getting high.

It's a real sport, just like bridge and tug of war.

Then you have no clue what the sport is about and dis it because the main piece of equipment is a flying disc, right? That's some close-minded thinking.

Why does this make your heart hurt? May want to see a DR about that.

Does this mean it is going to be an Olympic sport?

The possibility is there and very real. I wouldn't expect to see it in the games any time soon, however.

Saying ultimate frisbee will supplant soccer as the most popular sport on the planet is no-minded thinking.

Keep your hopes up, I hear it's neck and neck with hopscotch.

Where did I say it will supplant soccer? I said it could supplant soccer. I played both. One is way more fun to play than the other, but this thread is not about soccer.
