So, ULL is 1-3 vs Bama and Aubbie this year? Welcome to SEC softball! Don't think they would want 30+ of those type games in a season...

You blowing a five run lead in the ninth inning of a super regional reminds you of losing to Jackson St??!

Yeah, both were pretty embarrassing, crushing losses for different reasons.

What kind of chicken ____ umpire awards a free run in the bottom of the 7th in a highly contested super regional? Are you ____ing kidding me?

If you wouldnt blatantly break the rules then the umpires wouldnt be forced to enforce them you ignorant count.

This loss is definitely on Lotief. With a pitch count over 200, the pitcher was tired and had lost her confidence. She kept looking over to the dugout. Lotief does nothing and several walks later, he changes pitchers. Then he proceeds to micromanage the other 2 pitchers. He should have done that with the starter when it was obvious that she had lost her stuff. I'm not a ULL fan, but I'll definitely pull for any La. team against Auburn and that's an awful way to lose!

She was the same pitcher that walked 8 batters in the first two innings as well. It was clear she didnt have it, yet just leave her out there and give the game away.

Yeah, OP left out that Auburn was awarded a free run due to "too many warmup pitches being thrown." Complete bullshite. The fan outrage is understandable.

Is that actually a rule ? If it is then why would anyone break it?

Fans should be pissed at it happening- not it was called.

The rule is the rule and was the correct call.

The only angst by ULL fans should be directed at Mike.

So the rules shouldnt be applied because it cost your favorite team the game? I'll allow it.

Horrible job coaching by Lotief in the 7th inning. The pitcher was struggling and kept looking towards the dugout for relief to come in. Had 200 pitches by then. Coaching meltdown and loss solely on the head coach.

I have never seen the rule called in any game much less a Super Regional and I highly doubt it's the first time it's been broken. Similar to how it's understood you don't call DPI on hail Mary's or how refs dont call fouls in the final play of a basketball game. Let the players play and don't let the game be decided on a petty, stupid call like this. I would venture to say that all the people on their high horses right would not have this opinion if the same thing happened to their team.

Could you imagine that happening in a LSU game? You people would want the Ump's head on a stake.

The pitcher threw the ball to third base because ESPN wanted a timeout after she warmed up. How does that count for extra warm up pitches. The loss is on Lotief, he was clearly playing for Saturday. Hope they can comeback.

I asked this on the sec rant but, i'll ask again:

what would have happened if the hitter would have hit a ground ball to the pitcher and the pitcher would have thrown it underhand to the first baseman for the out. would they have awarded a ball to the next batter?
