I thought the best part about the jab to the knees was how Henderson set up that overhand right with them.

I just watched the fights and BJ was way out of his league and needs to retire. I'm sad Shogun lost but it was a hell of a fight and both fighters showing they have a great chin. I love seeing Diaz get his arse kicked.

Shogun is still a great fighter. He is no longer championship caliber but he will beat the tier of fighters below that

no doubt and Gustafson is gonna be a scary fight for Jon Jones. Someone who has great standup and won't be at that big of a disadvantage with Jones reach. Assuming Jones rolls through Sonnen like I think he will.

I don't know if BJ needs to retire, but he has no business at 170 anymore.

The last few BJ fights I've seen he just doesn't have any finishing potential against the opponents he is facing. His movement standing up is lacking and takes a huge amount of punishment which empties his gas tank. He still has a hell of a chin but I don't see him winning any fights against quality opponents right now. As you said he has no business at 170. Rory dwarfed him and not surprised by the result whatsoever.

Bendo/Melendez should be the next big fight at lw.

That would be great

I love Melendez's scrappy style, but he doesn't always seem to show up.

Yeah it may not be the worst idea for BJ to hang it up, but he is still only 33. I agree, he doesn't look the same in his last few fights. However, Rory looked like he was two weight classes above BJ last night.

I would live to see Henderson try jabbing to the thigh with Cerrone.

you also have to realize bj penn has never really trained outside of his comfort zone in hawaii with a bunch of yes men as his trainers.

not saying they are bad trainers but the guys skills could have evolved had he trained somewhere else more frequently. however i think he should retire or go back to 155.

rory is too cocky and weird for my taste

Ya the showboating and Ali crap rory was doing was very distasteful. I think you are right though about the hawaii training with all the yes men. I just don't see BJ being a contender anymore especially with the very talented lightweight division now.

I doubt BJ can still make 155, he's small but he seems to have a lot of trouble losing weight. He needs to retire he's taken too many brutal beatings.
