Did anyone else watch this circus? The group that sold the UFC may have had the right idea. This was embarrassing for everyone involved. Connor should be tested for PEDs and mental stability.

ETA: I was actually laughing and watched a second time because it was so bad.

You used to be into it no?

When did you stop watching?

I stopped watching on a regular basis about five years ago. Too many cards and too much made up drama with press conferences.

I did for about a year. Wayyyyy too many cards. Cards are extremely watered down. UFC would be 100x better with 5-6 loaded cards a year. Let the rest of the non major fights be on cable TV.

I would also cut the number of fighters in the UFC. Make it extremely top heavy and tougher to break into the UFC.

I agree, but they also need some stars. Currently the biggest starts are suspended for PEDs (Jones) or hard to work with (Connor). Not only did Connor lose his mind at the press conference he showed up 30mins late. Then he trolled Dana about being late and taken off cards because of press conferences.

Yeah, probably about 2 years ago I stopped following. Still a casual fan but it's hard to keep up with. Don't enjoy watching women fight either.

Question I posed in the ppv thread.

quote:

Do we see the UFC become less of a competitive sport and more sports entertainment with manipulated outcomes and the build up of stars to make them more of a draw for Hollywood and entertainment projects?

Guess we have our answer.

I just started enjoying the women fight, now that rousey isn't champion.

I hope Nate knocks out Conor this time. Is Conor a gypsy?

This will probably be the last fight I watch for a while unless major changes are made.
The fighters need to be unionized. Dana and Co are ripping them off.
The fighters need to be fined for the above behavior.
Less cards
More good fights

I wish they'd break the roster up. Like mentioned above. Have the UFC be the creme de la creme with 8-10 staaaaaaacked cards a year.

Then bring back Strikeforce as a AAA type org and also prop up some regional organizations for their AA, A, and rookie ball levels and have those organizations fights on fight pass and start building up young fighters on an international level through fight pass.

Imagine seeing some newbie on fight pass, they have a notable win and those fighters can catch interest from fans and have a bit of a buzz around them when they get into the UFC instead of now where a last minute replacement is a nobody, unknown to the world and without any type of push or hype and it's a throwaway filler fight on a card that is weak to begin with and the card's weakness gets compounded by having main event fights fall out almost every damn time.

If the new guys want a huge TV contract they can't continue to go about as the UFC has done so far.

You do know that Nate threw the first bottle right?

I think Nate wins again, but it's not like Connor started this.

Diaz got to him big time. He even said before he would have thrown bottles at Connors head if he was at the UFC big press conference

Vince McMahon is smiling somewhere.

At least Stone Cold would have thrown beer cans instead of water bottles.
