My point is that there is a such thing as lucky knockouts, but not a such thing as a lucky submission.
Knockouts happen when you land a punch. Sometimes the punch hits the exact right spot and the lights go out. Sometimes guys can just eat punches and not get knocked out.
Knockouts are like homeruns in that you are trying to do your best job of hitting the ball. Sometimes you connect exactly right and you hit it out, but most of the time you don't hit homeruns even if a homerun is your goal.
But submissions are like touchdown passes. You see the receiver, and he's open if you put the ball exactly in the right place. It takes an expert quarterback to put it there, but is simply a matter of execution that determines if it will be a touchdown or not.
Knockouts are random, like homeruns. If you are a good hitter, then you will hit homeruns more than others... but they are still random.
Touchdown passes, like submissions, are not random, and are the result of execution.
