If he had a problem with it why did he sign his LOI?

I hope Mora gives 30 to every freshman LB

You know this going in. You aren't some bright eyed star struck 10 year old. This is what it is right now. Bet you aren't gonna give back that money they spent on your education.

He's getting free tuition in which he's earning.. Or was.. That cost a ridiculous amount of money. Why is he any more special..? I find it ridiculous myself when they complain. He's also investing towards a possible future in the nfl..

As someone still paying on student loans, I am in the camp that they get compensated more than fairly through their scholarship.

I would have loved the ability to go to school for free and then have the opportunity to go make millions in the NFL after.

About as ridiculous as Mora pretending Jack doesn't have enough game reps for scouts to view. He probably just wants Jack back so he can finish his degree.

Agreed... To attend UCLA it costs an out of state student (like Jack) more than $58,000 a year. The average salary of a graduate directly out of college is somewhere around $46,000. I'd say he is getting a pretty good deal.

Disagree. There is no single student athlete that makes a university. No matter what fans will go to games and no matter what they will still have students attending classes.

My point is that UCLA football does not sell tickets because of Myles Jack, they sell tickets because people are alumni or students of the school or are just fans. Regardless they will still spend money.

but there are students who actively bring in millions of dollars and bring exposure to the university which only leads to more applicants. that is myles jack. and his worth is a frick ton more than 50,000 a year and a meal stipend

Okay so should the university also pay all students that achieve great academic feats and help bring more students into their programs?

i dont see schools putting those kids on TV every week, selling their shirts or jerseys, or parading them in front of the media like they do with star athletes

Actually the "cost" of tuition is a number made up by the university which is based in a ton of "what if" economics. There is actually very little direct cost to the university for the scholarship as these costs are built in to their athletic budget which is thereby subsidized by tuition, government funding, or private backing.
The income generated by these athletes is substantial and can be easily, directly attributed to their efforts. Furthermore the money made by those who are in charge of football is wildly substantial.
College football remains one of the very few places where everyone but the performer is allowed to earn any money from their efforts.

You answered your own question....

Now, the fact he and other idiot athletes think they are not being compensated better get their head out their arse.

And the fact they are playing football will give them plenty of doors to great jobs if they are not NFL material. The amount of contacts they have at their disposal is way more than an average joe.

And part 2. Most of these athletes get easy summer jobs that most don't actually work and get well compensated for considering they don't do jack shite.

It's really stupid that people think these guys do not get compensation and taken care of while in college. Horse f'ing shite!
