Will they even be able to field a team? They basically just gave themselves the death penalty. It'll take 5-8 years at least to get back to anywhere close to what they were.

I wonder if Bama BOT will let UAB succeed this time?

Aside from all the BOT stuff, this might go down as one of the dumbest calls in all of sports.
Everyone should be fired or "reassigned". What was the point if you planned on doing this, as always the real victims will be the players, coaches, students, and fans. If all of the posturing and decisions to shut it down led to this, then they should never have a job in college sports ever.

Why does UAB get so much hate? I don't get it.
That's like saying LSU should make an attempt to squash ULL even though they're in a different conference that is zero threat to the state powerhouse program(s).

these are people who think its ok to put their nutsack on a passed out drunk in full few an entire restaurant, poison a bunch of trees at a rival school, shoot a fellow fan for not being upset enough at a loss, imply that they sabotaged a stadium build, and elevated Phyllis from Mulga into a quasi internet celebrity.

I call lead aquatic engineering project manager

Not necessarily.
UAB won't start back play until 2016, and even then it would likely be FCS level for at least two seasons.
Would CUSA be willing to keep them that long as a non-football member?
