I think Rice is in the lead this week at the top of the standings in the West Division followed by UTSA and Tulane. Since Tulane wet the bed three weeks ago against UTSA, they have the head to head over Tulane. The only way Tulane goes I think is if UTSA loses to LaTech and if Tulane beats Rice this weekend. Do I have that right?

How bout dem dawgs? Do us a favor

That's it.

There are other scenarios where we can host, but that's a bit nuts.

My understanding was that I had better chance of scoring with Kate Upton than Tulane hosting.

That's about right.

I've pretty much resigned myself to going to NOLA next month. Such a hardship.

Yeah, hard not to be satisfied with 7 wins

Honestly, I'd take 7 wins for Tulane for the rest of my life.

We have a good chance of beating Rice; but La Tech has no chance of beating UTSA (Tech is worse than their record).
Our best chance is probably c-usa coming to their sentences and not let an ineligible team play for the championship.

I was wondering about North Texas.

It was my understanding that Tulane needed to beat Rice AND UTSA to lose to LA Tech in order to win the West. I didn't know that UNT could affect Tulane's fate. Also, this whole UTSA bowl/conference championship eligibility issue is further complicating the matter. If we get left out, we have only ourselves to blame for the abysmal play against FAU and UTSA.

UNT can't. If they win, UTSA wins the 4 way tie; UTSA and Tulane have the best record between the 4, but UTSA beat Tulane.
IF UNT loses, it's a 3 way tie, and UTSA and TUlane have better divisional record than Rice. UTSA then wins the tiebreaker again.
UNT can't go to the championship game, nor does their result matter at all.

Tulane wins all possible tiebreak scenarios with a three team tie and of course would go over rice with the two team tie happens.

UTSA wins a 3 way Rice-Tulane-UTSA tie.
Tulane wins a 3 way Tulane-UNT-Rice tie.

How so
The 3 teams would have split against each other.
Rice is out because they would be 4-2 in the division while UTSA and Tulane would be 5-1.
Then it comes down to Tulane-UTSA and they win the head to head.

teams change from week to week, but UAB took Rice to overtime last week so I think they've got a shot. I'm a Posi-Wave through and through though.

you are correct, I thought that utsa had two loses in the division as well. My bad. Tulane has no shot against Rice, anyway.

We have a great shot against Rice.
