This is basically the biggest football game they've had in 10 years (still undefeated/national televised game in new stadium/ACC team).

Georgia Tech last year was much bigger than Duke

It also sold out and had the butts in seats.

Thursdays aren't going to be kind to Tulane until they start winning and drawing locals.

Their already small alumni base has too many people that live good distance away.

3. Tulane doesn't care, they have already sold those seats so they got their money and that is all Tulane cares about (insert Jewlane joke here).

They aren't anywhere near sold out.

Tulane has the worst athletic director ever and an ex president who bet against football after 1998.

It's a total outrage that a school of Tulane's location and stature is so bad in football.

A small expensive academically difficult private school with less than 25% of the student body from instate? It's the perfect recipe for a crappy football program.

Duke has somehow found a winning formula.

In the last 3 years. They went to 2 bowls games in the 50 years before that. They'll probably go back to that level when Cutcliffe retires. And for everyone ready to get rid of CJ it took Cutcliffe 5 years to do anything there.
Additionally, hate to break it to you but Tulane ain't Duke. They have a national brand in a part of their athletics department that Tulane can't imagine. They're also in a bigger conference.

I saw a snapchat from a friend that goes there. Their student section looks like what you'd expect from a LSU tennis match

The stands were actually pretty full except for the high prices seats for a late Thursday night game. Either way, it's better than the Dome

Which should make winning easier. Tulane is in an easier conference and one of the top hotbeds for NFL talent. If Tulane could fill its roster with 2 or 3 stars without ever having to get on a plane. CCJ has done a good job of recruiting and rebuilding, but his X and Os suck and that is not a problem Cutcliff had.

And yet, there are multiple threads every year complaining that LSU won't play the weenies. All these replies are the reason why.

This has to be some what demoralizing to the players .

Lack of talent and a decent head coach/coaching staff is demoralizing too.

Tulane was going to be the Harvard of the south.

They should put Harvard on the schedule. Might be the only win.

As soon as I saw CJ was going to run a pro-style offense there I knew it would be a fail.

At Tulane, you've got to run some gimmick offense. Zone Read/Spread/Option whatever. Pro-style just will not work with their talent.

Should at the very least have a good basketball program

The basketball program is an abomination.

They last made it to the NCAA tourney in like 1995.

They play in a gym built in the 1930's that holds 3500 people and for most games there are under 1000 people.

Basketball runs a distant 3rd to baseball and football at Tulane.

The real shame is baseball was AWESOME at Tulane starting in the late 90' til about Katrina. It's sad to see how awful the baseball program has become.
