Very similar to when LSU Baseball went to black jerseys and caps about 10 years ago. Just didn't work.

Pretty sure they'll be getting new uniforms for next year to go with them. Havent seen them yet, but that's what I've heard.
ETA: They look good, I like em. I wont care what they wear if CJ can hold on to his current commits and add a couple more before NSD.

If black isn't your school color, don't wear black.
I am really glad LSU got away from this fad when it hit a few years ago. Men's basketball, baseball, and softball all had black uniforms..I think fans bitched and the blacks got phased out.

It may be forced, but tons of teams are doing it and the players and recruits like these things.
Also Tulane wore black pants back in 98 during the undefeated season. They've also worn black jerseys in basketball and baseball since then and I dont recall too many complaints about any of those things from fans.

LSU fans are jealous. They'd rather suck at football but have hope for the future than being stuck with Les Miles while getting embarrassed by saban every year

I usually love black helmets, but these look like shite. Incorporate some tertiary color to the black helmet, or else they have to go full Brooklyn Nets.

Meh, stick with the whites they have now. I'm thinking that the baby blue and matte black helmets are prototypes provided by helmet companies. We see things like this pop up in the offseason fairly regularly now. But it doesn't always translate to the team wearing them on the field.
