Find the first violation.

The SEC "pecking order" is violation free at least through Alabama - as in no lower ranked team has been a higher ranked team.

LSU lost only to teams higher than LSU in the rankings and beat only teams lower than LSU in the rankings. In fact - that statement holds true at least for every SEC school in the top 10. The fact that LSU has been tested against a more difficult set of opponents at this point than - say - Alabama - doesn't not count against them unless you're a human pollster

I fail to see how that's absurd at all.

We lost 41-7. Seems pretty absurd to me that we're the number three team.

All that matters is winning and losing.

By your logic LSU ought to be #100 because of the narrow wins against Florida and Ole Miss. We could have easily lost both of those.

If we're going by losses and wins, why is Alabama below LSU?

Really it seems that all that matters is winning.

Because losses don't seem to matter for shite.

I see you're posting this on two boards to double your failure rate. Congrats, I guess.

Doesn't look that bad.

LSU at two losses is just as good as anyone else with one.

At home, yeah.

At LSU tho or on a neutral field? The spread would be -3ish

Makes perfect sense to me.

Without looking, I wonder who else has played your number 1 and number 2 teams?

Are we going by that? Bama would be favored over almost any team in the country.

There's not a 31 point difference in home and away. 41-7 still goes in the book. Just like 23-17 does for Bama even though we'd be favored at home or neutral field against OM.

Just suggesting that it's not so unreasonable for LSU to be on par with Auburn.

If the two played tomorrow in Baton Rouge LSU would likely be favored.

There is just too much parity this year for me to say one team is definitively better than the other.

Except to make a rankings system you're expected to consider the season as a whole. 41-7 is an enormous gap to fill in four weeks.

LSU beat Ole Miss who beat Alabama. Alabama did not beat anyone ranked higher than LSU.
