Pre-roids Barry Bonds is the greatest 5-tool player of all-time.

Anybody...challenge me.

I think Larry Walker would shite himself if he knew his skill set was being compared to Ruth, Mays, Aaron, Mantle, etc.

uh, no.

Larry Walker was legit. He had one of the greatest seasons EVER in '97.

Finished will some damn good numbers when it was said and done.

I was just coming to post this. I don't see how anyone challenges bonds.

Pujols could be top 10 I think. As big as he is, he can still move and his d is ok.

A guy who had the tools to be one of the best was Raul Mondesi IMO. They guy had it all but never quite lived up to expectations, thou he had some very solid years. He had one of the strongest arms during his era.

Im old school. Its Mays and Mantle then everyone else imo. Bonds had it all but I dont see him as better in any of the 5 vs Willie and Mickey.

I'm gonna research this out...but there was a 4 year run that Bonds had in the early 90's where he was just insane. BRB.

Mantle and Mays had everything Bonds did, but had more power and were better in the field

I'm old school too and I saw Mays, Mantle and Aaron during their prime.
Roberto Clemente was better in the 5-tool category because he had the 4 they all had plus the greatest throwing arm from RF in baseball history. It
defied gravity. No one ran on Roberto.

Bonds was going 30/30 or at least 25/25 on the semi reg in the early 90s. People ignore that.

On talent alone, not counting production, Bo Jackson should be in the debate.

Clemente led the NL in outfield assists five time, so somebody was running- but they were stupid to do so. The man could flat throw!

RC was up there no doubt. I rank him a little lower because of his power stats but he's right there. I was never that impressed with Hanks defense.

He'd be way up there on the "How many times did he induce you to say 'How the Hell'd he do that?' list."

I'm actually surprised it took until page 3 for Robbie Clemente to get a mention.

My list, in no particular order:

Willie Mays
Ty Cobb
Roberto Clemente
Joe Dimaggio
Mickey Mantle
Barry Bonds
Vlad Guerrero
Tris Speaker
Ken Griffey Jr.
Joe Jackson

Forbes Field was a big-arse ballpack, like a lot of those old parks. For example, when Babe Ruth was playing for the Yankees, there wasn't a center field in the AL LESS than 450 feet.

I'd say Clemente had a hell of a lot more power than Ichiro.
