Huge typo. 2015, not 2016. 2016 is considered a very solid group, where several of the juniors are better than any senior already.

Mickey wont get drafted and good chance martin goes second round. Id bet martin goes first round if you put a gun to my head but still a good chance he doesnt.

Early second > late first

Martin will stick for a few years. If he improves, he'll have much better options for contract #2 if he gets drafted in the 2nd versus the first. Guaranteed first-round contracts stick you into a slot for the first 2 contracts. Late firsts make for a low-paying slot.

With the CBA, early 2nd is not a bad place to be drafted. You actually end up with more leverage.

Shawn Long will most likely declare for the draft even though his draft stock fell through the year.

Booker is a unique case and if he does in fact come from a wealthy background, I think he should stay. I see him as a top 20-25 pick right now, but if he returned to Kentucky with this potential exodus, he would be THE guy there.

I don't see many other primary scoring options on that squad, depending on who leaves, so he could easily propel himself into the top 10/lottery conversation

Depending on who Newman chooses, he could push him down a bit.

I would imagine if Booker returns, along with Briscoe and Ulis at point (where Newman really wants to play), Newman would look elsewhere

Could it be that some of these players are being "evicted" from their programs in a way? I mean you know Calipari isn't going to slow down on the recruiting trail regardless of what the current players do.

So maybe a lot of players, like the Harrison twins, figure elite incoming recruits are just going to eat into their minutes even more, so there is no point in staying. I think it's more likely that rather than they think they're going to be a first round draft pick.

That's what happened to Archie Goodwin. Don't think it's the case here though. Dakari would have seen more minutes this year, so still not sure what he was thinking. The twins wouldn't lose any playing time- I think with them they've already seen their stocks drop from freshman to soph year as the scouts and analysts have picked their incomplete games apart. Better to go now then pull a McAdoo and wait til you have no shot of getting drafted.

I'm pretty sure a very high % of these guys have families who needed the money have probably needed money for a while now. So staying poor for a little longer to hit it big (hopefully) seems like the most sensible thing to do here. I would chase a lottery or top 15 lock before maybe not being drafted at all.

Jake layman is returning to Maryland. They are going to be sick next year, which is unfortunate because I dislike them. Should be preseason top 5 though

Don't they have a recall date? I thought it was until May, where as long as they don't sign with an agent they can take name out and return to school.

When I lived in DC, Carolina was an afterthought. They were down, Maryland was really good. UMD fans broke into my house on 5 different occasions and stole my couch so they could burn it.

Makes no sense why someone would declare without a first round guarantee, and none of these guys are going to get a 1st round guarantee.

Why do people hate on basketball players who want to play overseas, get paid playing against better players, which will overall improve their game while going for the NBA next year?

No one hates on high school kids who leave for the MLB draft early only to never even sniff the majors.
