quote:Has he made mistakes, of course. But he is by far the piece of that puzzle that has kept them above water. Without him they would have been a 4-12 team the last few years. 4100, 4900, AND 3800 yards in his last three seasons with 31, 38, 31 tds with only 10, 19, 10 ints. It is amazing that men with functioning brains can say he sucks
Oh yeah, none of that fail can be attributed to him...
quote:How you can say that for this season is beyond me. Three years ago, sure Eli was hot. But if someone asked you today and you said eli you are crazy
ll things equal, if i need a game winning drive, im taking Eli
quote:Agreed. He is in the 5-10 range in the NFL. However, he has looked better than Brees and Brady both this season alone. I would still take Brees and Brady over him, but Romo has definitely been better this season
Romo is a good QB but not elite.
So try again
quote:Tony Romo has the highest career passer rating in the 4th quarter among all active Qbs. And it isnt even close LINK And that is passer rating, not that crap QBR. And led the nfl with ints while leading by 7 or fewer points? Really? how arbitrary is that. But, guess who is second in that category? Thats right, the anointed most clutch QB, Tom Brady
Romo has tied or led the NFL with 4th quarter interceptions while leading by 7 points or fewer since 2006.
Most recently, when the Cowboys blew it against the Packers, that can be attributed to defensive meltdown, which definitely gives weight to your comment about him carrying the fail for the Cowboys. But he is not as stellar as you are making him out to be. Another "actual football game as a measuring stick" would be his choking seminar against the Broncos - throwing for 500 yards then blowing it when they need him the most. When the pressure is on, he's shaky.
"When the game is on the line he throws an INT" - Jerry Ri
Romo doesn't suck, he's just not an elite QB. All things equal, if i need a game winning drive, im taking Eli
I agree with all this... ELI has more playoff road wins than ANY qb in NFL history.
