It's officially that time of year. Regional semis begin being televised tonight. Let's fricking do this.

Southeast semi at 7 and a southwest semi at 9 on ESPN.

This is not a thread for you to tell everyone how much better your or your gay son's travel ball team is. IDGAF about your nephew that plays USSSSSSSSSSA or dixie league or whatever. Fact of the matter is, he sucks too.

I've got a bone to pick with LL about the regionals though. The southeast, southwest, and west are absolutely STACKED compared to some of these other regions. I don't know how you fix that, but the 3rd best team in the southeast would qualify without an issue in like 4 other regions.

Teams I am cheering for who are all still alive:
Georgia
Ohio
Kansas
Wisconsin

Louisiana is in an elimination game at 5 on the longhorn network, which i wont be watching.

US teams with an actual chance in Williamsport (have not watched any of them play, but would bet large sums US champ is on this list):
South Cali
Texas West
Tennessee
Georgia
Hawaii
Arizona
Oregon/Washington (whoever is better)

These threads do always devolve into, "what league I played in as a kid was better because my son and I are automatically the best."

What do I say about how you think you know enough about little league in other states to be able to say this? What does that say about you?

At least in high school football the kids aren't that far away from mattering to the larger sports world

Meh the actual US championship of the LLWS and World championship is legit, as well as a story like Mo'ne Davis or Danny Almonte, but don't really need the wall-to-wall coverage.

College football needs a preseason so we don't have to watch this

that i like the LLWS? ive watched for years. i enjoy it.

there are always people who are going to hate on others because of what they like. gotta learn to not give a frick. i dont care a single iota about high school football, which is why you wont find me in any high school football related threads. and yet, you and many others have to come into these threads every year and shite on the LLWS for literally no reason. what does that say about you?

Don't forget Pennsylvania. The Clinton County team is in the tournament again. That's a yuuuuge home field advantage.

Unrelated, but my boy was throwing 73-75 from the mound at that age and already had a few college scouts stopping by to watch. Shame what happened to him.

finals of the southeast regional on espn.

georgia down 5-1 early here in the top 2nd with runners on the corners. just got hosed on a challenge review for a close play at the plate.

we've got drama. play called safe. ump comes out after review and signals out. then goes, wait, and comes back and signals safe. crazy. he was definitely safe fwiw, but the ump totally fricked this up.

5-2 going to bottom of 2nd.

My buddy and I bet facial hair on the "world bracket" every year... we really don't get to watch them play most of their games(cuz the US teams are mainly shown and rightfully so) but it's a fun bet... Japan and Mexico are always a good bet
